Marvin J. Rybin 89 of Ord passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Ord United Methodist Church with Reverend Stefanie Hayes officiating. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Marvin James Rybin was the son of James and Mary (Novotny) Rybin was born September 1, 1927, in rural Geranium Township of Valley County. He grew up on the family farm and attended Hillsdale Rural School and graduated from Ord High School in 1944. He farmed with his father until 1951. On June 20th of 1951, he married Illa Fay Jobst and they lived on a farm until 1956 when they moved to southern California. There he worked for Sears until 1976. He transferred to Longview, Washington, where he worked for Sears until he retired in 1988.
Marvin was a member of the Foresters; WFLA Lodge 112 and the Elks and the Elks RV Club. They enjoyed camping with the group and traveling in the RV. In 1997, they moved back to Ord, NE.
Marvin is survived by his wife Illa Fay.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Ella Langenwalter and four brothers Leroy, Eldon, James and George.
