Karen F. Neemann, 77, of North Loup passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at the Valley County Health System Hospital in Ord.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the North Loup United Methodist Church. Reverend Toni Nolze will officiate. Private inurnment will be in the Shelton Cemetery at Shelton, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Family’s Choice to be designated to special service. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Karen Faye was born September 23, 1939, at Burwell, Nebraska to William H. and Luella C. (Edwards) Flavell. She received her education at Gretna and Omaha and graduated in 1957, from Westside High School in Omaha.
On April 20, 1957, Karen was united in marriage to Jerald Neemann, Sr. at Shelton, Nebraska. The couple had three children, Tammy, Jerry Jr., and John. The family lived in Shelton, Omaha, North Loup and North Bend. Following retirement, Karen and Jerry settled in North Loup in the early 90’s. Jerry passed away in August of 2009, and Karen continued to make her home in North Loup.
Karen was a loving Mother and Homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, baking and her daily crossword; and was an avid reader. She was employed as a secretary throughout the years at various places.
Karen was a member of the United Methodist Church and was involved in the Lions Club, Elks Lodge, North Loup Progressive and Red Hats Ladies Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Thompson of North Loup; her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Yvette Neemann of Scottsdale, Arizona; five grandchildren, Katie Thompson of North Loup, Kiffini and Tyler Hilliard of Oakland, Kristopher Thompson and Christa of Snyder and Taylor and Stefani Neemann of Scottsdale; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Hunter and Hughey Thompson, Lucas and Landon Hilliard and
Damon Thompson; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Lloyd and Judy Neemann of Phoenix, Arizona and Carol Flavell of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, family members; and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law; her husband, Jerry; a son, John; a brother, Bill Flavell; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Peck.
