Ruby Dearmont Percell, 87, of Lincoln formerly of Burwell passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at her home in Lincoln.
A Memorial Service followed by a luncheon will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the Burwell United Methodist Church. Reverend Dennis Davenport will officiate. Family and friends are also invited to the Graveside Burial Service at Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell 10:00 a.m. at 10:00 a.m. prior to the memorial service. In lieu of memorials and flowers, Ruby would want everyone to “pay it forward” with generous sharing of words, actions and financial gifts for those in need as Ruby often practiced. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ruby Dearmont Percell was born on the family farm near Burwell, Nebraska on August 21, 1930.
Ruby graduated from Burwell High School, worked briefly in Omaha and in Rock County and in 1953, she married Milton Percell. In 2013, after living most of her life in Garfield and Rock Counties she moved to Lincoln to be nearer her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Vi See (Ken Gonzales); grandchildren, Nathan See (Katie Krieger) and Brock Jackman; great grandson, Everett See; sister, Ivy Everhart; brother in law Glen Bowers Jr; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and her many friends at Cotner Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milton Percell; two sisters, Viletha Graham and Helen Fischer; and five brothers, John, Nelson, Alvin, Robert and Charles Dearmont.
