Service Details

Funeral services for Daine B. Fernatt, 89 of Atkinson will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 29th at Seger Funeral home in Atkinson, NE. Visitation will be at 10:30 am until time of Service at Seger Funeral Home. Pastor Wayne Owens will officiate, burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Atkinson, NE. Memorials are suggested to Asera Care Hospice or Atkinson Good Samaritan Center. Seger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Daine Beatrice Fernatt was born to Irwin and Laura Maude Brown Raybon March 22, 1929.

She grew up in Vanntown, TN.

She attended McCracken School through the 8th grade.

She started working in the cotton fields at age 5 and continued after she left school.

At 17 she married Cecil Roberson on December 16, 1946. Their union was blessed with 2 sons, Larry and Rickie.

Daine and Cecil divorced in 1952.

Daine moved to Harvey, Illinois with her two young sons.

She met and married Milton Sherick in 1953. This union was blessed by 2 daughters, Debra and Valerie.

Daine and Milton divorced in 1959.

Daine married Robert Fernatt on January 30,1960.

Daine worked at various jobs, Chain Belt, Joliet Ammunition Factory, and as a health care companion.

They resided in Sauk Village, Illinois until 1982 when they moved to Ronoake,Virginia.

Then in 1987 moved to Hammond, Indiana and eventually moved to Fayetteville, TN.

Debra and Rickie moved Daine and Robert to Atkinson, Good Samaritan, January 26, 2015 due to health issues.

Daine is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert Fernatt. Her sons Larry Roberson and wife Donna of Elizabethtown, Illinois; Rickie Roberson and wife Pati of Gresham, Oregon; Daughters Debra Hash and husband Mark of Atkinson, NE, Valerie Edwards and husband Bruce of Noblesville, IN; 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Daine was preceded in death, by her parents Irwin and Laura Maude Brown Raybon, brothers Paul and Howard Tunstill, sisters Marie Waters and Katherine McGehee and grandson Kent James Hash.
