Ralph Leo “Jack” Walker, Jr., 88, of Burwell, Nebraska died May 10, 2018 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell.
Jack’s wishes were to be cremated. A
memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16,
2018 at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell, Nebraska. Pastor Marty
Robbins will officiate. Memorials are suggested to the Burwell
Veteran’s Park or the Cottonwood Cemetery avenue of flags.
Jack was born May 25, 1929 in Burwell
to Ralph and Olive (Coffin) Walker, Sr. He went to elementary and
high school in Burwell and then he received his degree at the
University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Jack entered the United States Air
Force on January 9, 1951 and was honorably discharged on September 3,
Jack was a rancher. He married Alice
Irene (Boag) Nelson on February 20, 1982 in Burwell.
Jack enjoyed woodworking, fishing and
furniture refinishing. He was a member of the Nebraska Cattlemen
Irene died August 13, 2015.
Jack is survived by three
step-daughters, Linda and Marty Robbins of Burwell, Nebraska, Julie
and Blane Lowe of Colorado and Tammy and Jerry Rowse of Burwell,
Nebraska. A sister Margarett Harrod of Burwell, Nebraska and nieces
Jack was preceded in death by his
parents and his wife, Irene.
