Michiko M. “Mickey” Bilka, 82, of Ord passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018, at the Valley View Senior Village in Ord.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Reverend Glenda Pearson will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Michiko was born October 15, 1935, in Naha, Okinawa, Japan to Nabe and Kama Miyagi. She was raised in Naha, Okinawa and received her education at Suri School.
On July 18, 1961, Mickey was united in marriage to Marvin John Bilka at the American Embassy in Naha, Okinawa. While Mr. Bilka was in the service, the couple lived in Okinawa for a couple of years and then
at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. Mickey received her United States Citizenship in August of 1968 and resided in the Sargent and Ord areas while Mr. Bilka was overseas. The couple settled in Ord where
Mickey worked in the Housekeeping Department at the Valley County Hospital for 27 years.
Mickey enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking, sewing and watching old movies.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Marvin J. Bilka of Ord; a son, Dwayne A. Bilka of Burbank, CA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deanna K. and Dean Osentowski of Ord and Betty A. and Jim Ellsworth of Philadelphia, PA; two brothers of Okinawa; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Martin W. Bilka; a granddaughter, Jaci Osentowski; and parents-in-law, John J. and Emma R. Bilka.
