Royce Edwin Jordan, 89, of Burwell, Nebraska died September 28, 2018 at the Valley County Health Systems Hospital in Ord, Nebraska.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Burwell Baptist Church in Burwell. Burial will be in the Rose Cemetery near Rose, Nebraska at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Stan Gurney will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Memorials are suggested to the Gracy Fire Department.
Royce was born March 25, 1929 in Omaha, Nebraska. Royce graduated from Rock County High School in Bassett in 1949. He ranched after graduation.
Royce married Glenda Warner on August 8, 1957 in O’Neill, Nebraska. They ranched in southeast Rock County. Glenda died in 1985.
Royce later married Lola Peacock on February 2, 2000. In 2009 they moved into Ainsworth, Nebraska due to their health. Lola died in 2016. In December of 2017 Royce moved to the Friendship Home Assisted Living in Burwell.
Royce was a member of the Gracy Fire District, Pleasant Hill School Board and the Rose Hill Cemetery Board. He enjoyed telling stories, visiting, building machinery, tinkering and reading.
Royce is survived by five children, Carla and Jim Osler of Hastings, Nebraska, Thor and Sharon Jordan of Chambers, Nebraska, Joan Denny of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brian and Marci Jordan of Burwell, Nebraska and
Dorothy and Kenny Pelc of St. Paul, Nebraska and fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, a daughter, Debra Stauffer, three sisters, Ruth Gurney, Alice Diehlman and Dorothy Jordan and three brothers, Grover Jordan, Willis Jordan and Tod Jordan.
